What is how to charge airpods?

Charging your AirPods and their case is straightforward. Here's a breakdown:

  • Charging the AirPods: Place your AirPods into their Charging Case. They will automatically begin charging when placed inside, as long as the case has a charge.

  • Charging the Charging Case: There are two main ways to charge the case:

    • Wired Charging: Use the Lightning to USB cable that came with your AirPods. Plug the Lightning end into the port on the bottom of the case and the USB end into a power adapter or computer.
    • Wireless Charging (for compatible cases): If you have a Wireless Charging Case, you can simply place it on a Qi-compatible charging mat. The case should be centered on the mat for optimal charging.
  • Checking the Charge Status:

    • AirPods in the Case: Open the lid of the case with the AirPods inside and hold it near your iPhone or iPad. A pop-up animation should appear on your screen showing the battery levels of your AirPods and the case.
    • AirPods NOT in the Case: Open the lid of the case. The LED indicator light inside the case will show the charge status. Green means fully charged, amber means less than one full charge remaining.
    • Using the Widget (iOS): You can add the Batteries widget to your iPhone or iPad home screen or Today View to quickly check the battery levels of your AirPods and case.
  • Charging Time: It typically takes about 20 minutes to fully charge the AirPods in the case. The charging case itself can take longer to fully charge, depending on whether you're using wired or wireless charging. A quick 15-minute charge in the case can give you up to 3 hours of listening time.

  • Optimized Battery Charging: Your AirPods may use "Optimized Battery Charging" to learn your daily charging routine and wait to finish charging past 80% until just before you need to use them. This can help prolong the lifespan of the AirPods%20Battery. You can find the option to disable this under Bluetooth settings on your iPhone.
